Matthew 6:19-20 …..Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where the thieves do not break in and steal.
How can we store up treasures in heaven? By living our lives everyday seeking Gods Kingdom and not our own here on earth. When we do things for others and say things to others that build up, that’s a treasure in heaven… it has eternal value! When we care more about others (no matter who they are or what they’ve done to us) that’s a treasure in heaven. When we can forgive others downfalls (mindful that we’re not perfect either) that’s a treasure. When we can get up everday ready to face whatever challenge the day may hold with courage that God has our back…. another treasure!! 1 Thessalonians 5:11 …..encourage one another and build each other up. The things that we do and say now do have an eternal effect. When I get to heaven I just wanna hear God say “well done”. Let’s live everyday mindful of the eternal consequences, encouraging each other along the way. We’re not gonna get it right all the time but we can be willing to try and be big enough to ask for forgiveness when we fall short.
You are of great worth in the eyes of God. No matter what you’ve done He still loves you!
Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If you’re reading this and you’ve never made the decision to trust God with your life it’s very easy to do. You can do it right now on your own by saying this prayer:
“Heavenly Father, I believe in you and that your word is true. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that he died on the cross so that I may now have forgiveness for my sins and eternal life. I know that without you in my heart my life is meaningless.
I believe in my heart that you, Lord God, raised Him from the dead. Forgive me, for every sin I have ever committed or done in my heart, please Lord Jesus forgive me and come into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior today. I need you to be my Father and my friend.
I give you my life and ask you to take full control from this moment on; I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.”
